ABC Bees has been training beekeepers since 2010 through a variety of methods including online courses, webinars, and in-person workshops.
Through online programming and social media, we were able to connect with online beekeeping communities even in the midst of a global pandemic, making sure that their learning needs were being met. For me, this meant engaging with the beekeeping community through social media, finding out what questions were being asked, throwing on a bee suit, getting hands-on with the bees, and capturing their behaviour and the beekeeping process through the lens of a camera, which would later be edited into something more concise and educational.






Bee Distribution Day
As a beekeeper, picking up your hive is one of the most exciting days of the year.
The Community Hive Collaborative Purchase of Honey Bees is a program run in partnership between ABC Bees and Sweetacre Apiaries in Tappen, BC. This started in 2010 as a way for beekeepers in Alberta to get their hands on locally bred bees and queens.
